Description

The Persian named Coda, or Cody for short, claims to have been brought up by a single father in a library at least five thousand feet underwater. The average person's reaction would be shock and disbelief, but as the "bathysphere" he came up in is made from incredibly strong, dense metals, there may be some truth to his claims.
According to him, his father built the library at the bottom of the Great Lake far before he was born, and he's lived there his entire life, up 'till now. As his father was all he had to talk to, save for books, for the better part of eighteen years... he hasn't exactly developed the greatest social skills.

Generally excitable, curious, and good-natured, it's Cody's plan to learn and experience as much as he can in the world above the lake-bed. He can often be overwhelmed by the countless new things around him, and will occasionally freeze up or screw up in conversation. He's just as excited to interact with new people as he is terrified by them, so his emotions can often be over the top! Really, the only person he's fully comfortable around is Dupin, who took it upon himself to introduce the wild-eyed Persian to society.

Cody has picked up a few unusual talents from the years spent in his father's library; firstly, he's evolved freakishly young for his species. It's a good guess that he forced a quick evolution out of a longing for change.
His only move, apparently, appears to be Power Gem: aside from shooting a vibrant red laser out of the gem on his forehead, he can create small, free-floating holograms in the air above his face. He claims to have based this ability after a character called "bird mom" from a favorite novel of his.
He also has no trouble walking on two feet, in fact, it seems to be second nature for him- he's clearly had a lot of practice.

His main "skill", however, is archiving: he claims that his father is the greatest archivist on the planet, and that he was taught everything he knew. As such, he can memorize huge amounts of information for short periods, read extremely quickly, and easily organize and save just about anything. He also has a large amount of random knowledge memorized from the books and scrolls at the library, however, a lot of that is outdated. In this roundabout way, he already knows a fair amount of the world, despite not actually getting to experience it.

To say Cody's sleep schedule is erratic would be an understatement, as all the light in their library was artificial, he and his father would often pull all-nighters and switch over to that "timezone", staying awake in the nights or the days for up to a month at a time. Because of this, Cody just sleeps whenever he gets tired, and can be found awake in the middle of the night in Aster just as often as the day.

Cody's outlook on the people around him is a little bit off- he often needs to be corrected that people are people, and won't act and react the same way as characters in a story. Of course, you can't really blame him... he hasn't had anything else to go off of.

As well, he doesn't seem to have much of a sense of self-preservation, partly from his boundless curiosity, and partly because of his mindset: he's sure everything will work out, no matter how bad things get.

Most of the time, you can find him with Dupin or Felix, depending on the "timezone" he's awake in... or talking to unsuspecting passerby about how he can't believe clowns are a thing. He claims they all perished in the Great Clown Massacre of 1409, apparently.

In all honesty, Cody isn't completely sure what he is or what he's going to be, either... but he's going to experience as much as he can while he finds out!
